Complementary & Alternative Therapies
Cranial Osteopathy
This is a refined and subtle method some osteopaths choose to use. It uses very gentle manipulative pressure to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body, including the head. It is very effective in treating a wide range of conditions in people of all ages, from birth to old age. Cranial motion is a very slight expansile/contractile motion existing throughout the body. When trauma disrupts cranial motion in any part of the body, local tissues and joints feel 'blocked' and disease results. Cranial Osteopaths are trained to feel this cranial motion and when it is absent to restore it through gentle and subtle manipulation. Since cranial osteopaths treat the whole body, the term cranial is misleading. A wide range of conditions can be treated.
